Britney Spears is the highest paid woman in music. Brit Brit brought in some serious cash this past year earning her the top honor and beating out some of music’s other famous women.
Forbes annual list revealed that yes Spears brought in more cash than even Beyonce, in fact Bey wasn’t even in the top five of the annual list. Each year Forbes counts the cash flow of ladies in the music biz this year they the determining time frame was May 2011 to May 2012. After looking at all the facts and serious money earned below is the list the magazine came up with.
Top 10 Highest Paid Women In Music
1. Britney Spears $58 million
2. Taylor Swift $57 million
3. Rihanna $53 million
4. Lady Gaga $52 million
5. Katy Perry $45 million
6. Beyonce $40 million
7. Adele $35 million
8. Sade $33 million
9. Madonna $30 million
10. Shakira $20 million
I tell you what Spears may not have been a hit pop star for years but someone working for her clearly has some good business sense for her to come out on top of this list. As I am sure you are all aware she earned like $15 million just to be a judge on the X-Factor. That combined with sales from her Femme Fatale tour which took place during the time period still doesn’t explain to me how she beat out Taylor and RiRi but that is just me. I guess if you count her perfume business too then it could happen.
If you are shocked by this news wait until you hear that Brit Brit came in number 2 on the Highest Paid Women In Entertainment List. Oprah took the top spot on that annual list, also put together by Forbes. Again I am shocked at where she landed. I guess because she isn’t really the pop celebrity icon that she used to me it makes me surprised she is raking in so much cash. Like I said someone is clearly making good business deals for the mother of two.
I have given you my thought son this topic what do you think about Britney Spears being the highest paid woman in the music business?
