Britney Spears made her debut as a judge on The X Factor last night and she gave Simon Cowell a run for his money in the being mean department.
I had no idea that Brit Brit would be such a mean judge but boy she did not hold anything back on last night’s premiere of The X Factor. In fact Cowell has even dubbed her “The Queen of Mean”. In the first round of auditions she rejected former duet partner Don Phillip, they sang together on her track “I Will Still Love You” which was from her Baby One More time album. After a little chitchatting about his issues Don sang and when he was done Spears told him that his voice was not up to the bar of The X Factor. She was that honest with someone she knew.
Phillip wasn’t the only contestant that got some honesty from Britney. Check out some of the other comments she made to those who didn’t live up to her standards.
“I thought it was just kind of bad”
“I think you’re like Vanilla Ice meets Lauryn Hill meets Westside Story”
“’The singing came in and it wasn’t very nice”
Now I personally don’t think anything she said was horrible. I mean a little insulting perhaps but honest from what I saw on the show.
Although Britney did have a lot of criticism for a number of those auditioning she has some praises too, including that of a girl who sang and recounted how she has been bullied. Spears is not heartless on the show let me just say that. Yes she is going to be tough and blunt and honest just like Simon but when she feels the love for someone she shows it. I was very impressed with the new revamped X Factor. I thought Spears and Demi Lovato did an amazing job as judges and I can’t wait to see what the season holds, even if Brit Brit does bring the mean so to speak I still liked her.
If you haven’t seen the show please check out the below videos and as always let me know what you think about how Britney and Demi both did on the premiere.
